January 2021 Wrap Up

Being a mom and having a job and writing books leaves my schedule full. I rarely read more than one book a month. But in January I finished two! And I’m paying for it, because I’ve yet to finish one if February.

I January I finished The Selection and The Elite both by Kiera Cass.

The Selection by Kiera Cass

I loved the first book in the series. Though I didn’t feel emotionally connected to the characters until book two, The Elite.

I loved the concept, it was like reality tv meets fantasy/dystopian. Dystopian is one of my favourite genres, besides contemporary, and I love some drama. So, when I discovered this book, I obviously had no choice but to read it!

The only issue I have with the series, is that the love triangle is dragged out way too much. I didn’t feel a connection to Aspen, so I couldn’t stand that she was flip flopping around for three books. I’m halfway through the third one now, but I had to put it aside for a bit because the love triangle was annoying me.

Have you read this series? I’m excited to finish it!
