Mid-Year Freak Out Tag

How is it July already? My birthday is just around the corner and so is my daughter’s second birthday! I haven’t read many books this year, as I seem to be in a constant slump, but I’m pushing through.

Best book you’ve read so far in 2021

It would have to be hands down The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren. It is funny, sexy, and everything I want from an enemies to lovers romance.

Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2021

The only sequel I’ve read so far was The Elite by Kiera Cass. It was good. I hope to get to Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell since the third book was just released!

New release you haven’t read yet, but want to?

The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren! I’ve been obsessed with their stuff since I read In a Holidaze!

Most anticipated release for the second half of 2021

I was most excited for Any Way The Wind Blows by Rainbow Rowell, the third installment in the Simon Snow series, and I picked up my copy last week! As of right now there isn’t much that I’m looking forward too, I’m still trying to get through what I already have!

Biggest disappointment

It’s a tie between The One by Kiera Cass. I liked the series as a whole, but I hated that it was a love triangle for three books.

Biggest surprise

Revenge of the Sluts by Natalie Walton. It was a Wattpad book, but it was well written, well developed. The ending was different than what I was expecting, but still good!

Favourite new author

I’m going to go with a new to me, since I can’t really judge a new author by just one book, and that Christina Lauren. They’re witty and charming.

Newest fictional crush

The Duke of Hastings from Bridgerton by Julia Quinn. He is so angsty, knows what he wants, powerful, and when he loves he loves with his whole heart.

Newest favourite character

Olive from, this may shock you, The Unhoneymooners. I love that she’s a bigger girl and her story isn’t about her weight at all.

A Book the made you cry

Shockingly no book has made me cry this year!

A book that made you happy

The manga adaptation of Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. It’s my favourite novel, and to see my favourite characters, to see the look in Levi’s eyes when he sees Cath, ugh melt my heart!

Favourite review you’ve written this year

I’m not sure if I’ve reviewed much, the only one that’s coming to mind is that of Revenge of the Sluts.

Most beautiful book you’ve bought this year

I’m going to go with Any Way The Winds Blows. The purple of my Indigo exclusive copy, the inside cover, of both back and front, is stunning. I love the artwork.

What books do you need to read by the end of the year

I don’t really need to read any, but I’d like to read at least 4-6 more.

Let me know how you’re doing with getting through your TBR!
