What is up fellow book worms?
Normally I don’t do a monthly wrap up, as I typically only read one book in a month, but I read THREE in January! I don’t expect this momentum to continue as I’ve got a lot going on for February.
So, let’s talk about what I read in January.
First, I finished Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren. It was easily a 5/5 for me. I love the way I feel when I read anything my Christina Lauren. My heart flutters and I’m giddy. Josh and Hazel was no exception. I loved the chaos that came with Hazel and I loved the calm that came with Josh. They were fantastic friends, and I did love that they were best friends. But Josh’s realization that was it, Hazel was his love. UGH! Yes please!!

The next book I read was a graphic novel. I’m not one for graphic novels, but Rainbow Rowell has one called Pumpkin Heads and I needed something easy and fun. I read it in a day. It’s just pictures and dialogue. But it was fun and cute and as much as I preferred the two main characters to remain just friends, I couldn’t deny that they were cute. And I did love that they weren’t skinny people. I love the plus size representation! Fat people deserve love too! 4/5

The last book I finished was The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams. 4/5
The only thing I didn’t like about this book was Gavin, or main character. I found him entitled and needy. It’s not a cute look. But, the sexy scenes were fantastic. I’m picky about my smut, I don’t want anything too vulgar, nothing too explicit, but still on the page. It can be a hard thing to get right (for what I like), but Lyssa did a great job! I’m thinking of adding more of her to my TBR.

What did you read in January and what are you hoping to read in February?

I have read a lot by them. The Unhoneymooners, Twice in a Blue Moon, Dating you Hating you, etc. I got into their books when I read Roomies. But Josh and Hazel is my absolute favorite.
